Chris Nielsen has over 25 years of experience working in the securities data industry. In his current role as Director at Charles Schwab, Chris leads the Market Data Management (MDM) organization. The MDM team oversee the consumption and distribution of all market data feeds, partner with internal stakeholders to deliver market data requirements for all security types, and manage all relationships with domestic and international exchanges.

Prior to Schwab, Chris worked at SmartStream Technologies from 2009-15 where he held senior management positions in the Data Management Services division, including an integral contribution to the launching of the Reference Data Utility.

From 1998-2009, Chris worked at Capco (Netik after merger) where he led the Global Securities Master service. This role involved interfacing with data providers and clients to provide managed services for market and reference data solutions to support the full trading lifecycle of tier one banks, and other financial services firms.

Chris began his career in 1996 at Iverson Financial Systems, where he worked as a Research Analyst supporting various BPO services for Morgan Stanley, including support for business units in New York, London, and Tokyo. Chris also helped launch and manage Iverson’s industry leading Global Index Monitor service.
